Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a Medius Buyer to join a dynamic team in California. This role offers a turnkey procurement solution to either Project or Internal Support groups for all purchasing-related activities. The ideal candidate will have frequent interaction with internal business leaders and suppliers, ensuring representation in the supplier marketplace. This is achieved by articulating requirements to suppliers and communicating suppliers' capabilities back.
Responsibilities
General Job Description:
- Responsible for the process of issuing subcontracts, equipment purchase orders, and material purchase orders within the proper programs (JDE, IFS, GP, etc.).
- Review invoices and verify prices against purchase orders, backup documentation, and inputting costs in proper programs.
- Process purchase orders and change orders within required systems.
- Negotiate with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and availability for equipment, materials, and day-to-day purchases.
- Focus on vendor follow-ups to ensure timely delivery of all items.
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with all vendors and subcontractors.
- Coordinate and assist all personnel as required while maintaining a good working relationship.
- Maintain and update authorized vendor lists for field and sales personnel.
- Maintain an understanding of vendor offerings, price trends, and sourcing for hard-to-find parts.
- Responsible for managing warranty items and filling out warranty tags.
- Handle core credits (compressors) from vendors and service calls on copiers and facsimiles.
- Collaborate with the shipping and receiving department and manage these operations as needed.
- Responsible for checking in and out of tools from the tool crib.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent; college courses in a related field (Business, Economics, Management) preferred.
- Proficiency in Invoice Processing & Finvari Support, or focused expertise in AFE, Online Accounts, Misapplied Costs, Bidtracer Contact Management, Diverse Businesses, SQM, IT Support, or Online Store within the first 4 weeks.
- Working knowledge of Medius or similar products is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a related position or industry.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and a detail-oriented approach to data entry.
- Team player attitude with a willingness to learn and perform various functions.
- Proficient-plus level user of MS Excel and MS Word.
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills, both over the phone and in person.
- Ability to work effectively and professionally in a team environment.
- Strong business writing skills, including proper grammar and terminology.
- High customer service skills and the ability to organize large amounts of information while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must be goal-oriented and meet deadlines.
Required Work Hours
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Benefits
This position offers a competitive pay range of $26-$35 per hour, with the potential for temp-to-hire. The role is fully on-site in Sacramento, California.
